So whats been happening since the big day. Well we have been fortunate to be on ITVs london tonight and Meridian on sunday Aug 2nd. Helen, Vanessa and Chris were interviewed live with the video footage and photos and it was great. BBC radio Surrey want a follow up report so are phoning on monday morning to get me on live. Also we have just been interviwed by a news agency for and article in magazines. So fame continues. We are now featured on the CHASE website.
As for us - life is returning to normal - well we have been relaxing and enjoying our holidays and doing the occasional swim. We are planning a celebratory BBQ and a trip to france in October to see the actual beach that we stepped on.

Well, we know we are superstars, and it appears that ITV think so too! Vanessa and Helen are being whisked up to the London studios tonight to appear on TV, 6pm Sunday, ITV 1. They are both agonising over what to wear, and I'm sure will be booking blow-drys and make-up!! Good luck!

So after many false starts we finally got under way. It seems unreal posting this as I have just woken up after our Channel swim and I am still bobbing around as if I'm on the boat! A very strange feeling. Anyway the best feeling ever is that we have achieved our goal and done it in a stunning time. 15 hours and 45 minutes. (this may sound a long time but we were aiming for around 20 hours).
We set off on a very good day - a good weather window and 12 other crews going at the same time. Shakesperes beach, Dover was busy. Helen got off the boat and onto the beach and after a cuddle from Ironman Mentor, Keith she was in. She did her hour then Carole, then Chris, then Vanessa, then me (Jackie) and then Clare. Haven't had the call today so everyone has rested and recovered from the night adventure. Looking like the weather will be good for friday............................ Thanks to everyone for all the sponsorship its increasing by the minute and it is looking like we will reach our target. Brilliant.

So thiw was it. We had the call and all made our way to Dover for a 2/3/4am start. The Marina was calm and we were ready to go. The boat is basic to say the least but with a lovely pitot Paul we knew we were in safe hands. There were 6 boats with teams on all ready and noone seemed to be moving - perhaps we should have guessed why! Anyway 3am came and the engines started. Out of the harbour we chugged. Then we got to the harbour entrance and Paul yelled 'hang on'. So we did and didn't stop hanging on for the next 20 mins. It was extremely choppy to say the least. Will it calm down that much, I say to myself? Chris and I look at each other wondering where the lifejackets are and holding on very hard. There was no way we could let Helen, ... >> full...
